The Falls school district has a serious deficit. Layoffs are necessary in order to keep the system afloat, but is pink slipping a teacher during the school day a good practice? Some Falls students think it is pretty shady.

About 200 students left during a class change about 10:45 a.m., saying they were upset over the way teachers were notified they would lose their jobs.

"It's how they're handling it -- pulling our teachers out of the classroom, letting them cry," said Samantha Roberts, 17, one of the students who streamed out of a front entrance...

Falls police watched the demonstration. No arrests were made.

[Superintendent] Holland said the several students who were inciting others would be disciplined. There also may be sanctions for other demonstrators, he said.

So there was a peaceful protest that the police did not need to break up and student are going to be punished for it. I think the school is just looking for someone to blame for their idiotic firing of teachers during school, who better then the students who care for those teachers?
