5.03.2005Another Nail in Rolling Acres CoffinAnother Target is coming to the area, this one will be at the intersection of I-76 and 261 in Wadsworth along with a new Kohl's and Lowe's. Target is acting as one of the anchor stores at Rolling Acres along with Sears, JCPenny's Outlet, Dillard's Outlet and Kaufmann's. The new Target in Wadsworth is about a 10 minute drive from the Rolling Acres store. This is the last thing Rolling Acres needed. With 2 stores so close, will they both stay open?I remember growing up and going to Rolling Acres because they had all the anchor stores that my mom wanted to go to. Then Fairlawn started to build up opening Super K, Wal-mart and countless other retail spots only 10 minutes away. We went to Rolling Acres less and less. Target opened at Rolling Acres; we went there until the Fairlawn chain opened. All the while stores in Rolling Acres were closing. Now there are a handful of stores in the mall, the old anchors are almost all outlets, the scenery is outdated, it is dying. With yet another shopping Mecca opening so close to Rolling Acres, I fear the end is near. The BJ :: Shops seen as turning point (joe :: Another Nail in Rolling Acres Coffin) |
