5.18.2005College 360Tonight's "Can you HANDle it?" event has spurred another wave of Akron talk. This time The BJ is giving us more then Rebecca Ryan's ideas...NOCHE [Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education] calls its regional initiative College 360 -- as in giving students a complete, 360 degrees of entertainment, learning and working during their time in Northeast Ohio. The premise is to help students have so much fun and throw so many internships their way that they'll either stick around after graduation or tell all their out-of-state friends how cool Northeast Ohio really is.[...]Ummm... actually no, it's not. College 360 is helping the college students get internships. Once someone gets there foot in the door at a company, they have a better chance of staying in the area. Let's face it, college grads need jobs, especially in Ohio. We have a giant university smack in the middle of Akron. Offer them jobs and they will stay. Problem solved.
