Computers Suck

Over the past few months, I've been battling with spyware on my PC. CoolWebSearch has taken a firm grasp on my computer. There have been some epic battles between me and the viruses, mostly resulting in my yelling and unplugging the damn thing. Then this morning I was reminded of my battles by an article in The BJ:

...I received from a reader who -- armed with information from a Web page and the intense desire to tinker -- decided to rid himself of adware and spyware by editing entries in the Windows registry.

For all I know, for all he knows, he succeeded. It's hard to tell now that his computer won't start up.

Playing with the registry without supervision is bad. If you're infested with internet vermin, try using AdAware. It's free and chances are your computer will still turn on after running it.
