5.24.2005The Good, The Bad and The CrazyI think we're still trying to figure out how to live in a post 9-11 world. There are so many new regulations on every aspect of travel. But airport lockdowns seem to be a bit on the crazy side. David Giffels from The BJ points out a bit 'o craziness he discovered while up at Cleveland Hopkins. The two women looked wistfully into the trash barrel at the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport security check. The first one dropped in her cigarette lighter. The other did the same.[...]But while some things seem to defy logic, others actually make sense. The Akron City Council passed an ordinance Monday night that would create a mutual aid agreement with Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton and Toledo.There. That one makes perfect sense, even outside of the scope of terrorist attacks. Think about all the flooding we get and tornados we get. Now, in case something goes really bad, other cities can come to our aid without the state. This could allow people who need help to get it quicker with less red tape.
