Keeping it Clean

I'm all about keeping the Earth clean and finding new ways to do my part reduce my need for energy. Consumer Reports seems to think this is important, too. Their new site GreenerChoices.org is dedicated to reporting on new ways to reduce and recycle and pick the most environmentally friendly products that are out there.

Right now, it features a lot of helpful information on items such as air conditioners, dishwashers, food, batteries and toxics. Some sections include ``green ratings'' derived from information from Consumer Reports. The ratings on dishwashers, for instance, include a breakdown of how the products stacked up on energy use, electricity and gas cost per year.

Getting a big name like Consumer Reports on the conservationists side is a huge step. In such a capitalist society, maybe weaving economy with ecology is the new way to protect our home.
