An Open Letter to Crazy Conservatives

Dear Crazy Conservatives All Over Ohio,

I'm sorry Americans suck at marriage; I really am. But is forcing couples to stay in crappy marriages really the answer? Sure, you've successfully stopped gay people who actually wanted to get married from doing so. They questioned your institution, you success rates. So instead of working on fixing internal issues, like pressure to marry and issues centering around sex, you want a law passed to make divorces much harder, forcing people to stay in unhealthy relationships.

I have friends who have gotten married not for love, but because they want to get laid. These relationships are doomed from the start. Being so pressured to "do the right thing" and wait until marriage for a little nookie has put these people in crappy relationships. Is this what you wanted? Now you want them to stay together and live unhappily ever after? Seems a little selfish to me. Or maybe you just want to admit that the gays might have a point...

Speaking of the gays, you don't want them to adopt. Don't make me go all Rosie O'Donnell on your ass. Look, I know you might not want to hear it, but there are kids in Ohio who are waiting for a real home that might never get that chance. Is life with a gay person worse then never being loved by a parent figure? If so maybe you're more screwed up then I thought. I was taught that the ultimate lesson is the Bible is love. The Gays have love to give; should a child really be denied love because of what someone does in their bedroom?

PS. I could've rambled off stats and studies, but I'm not. I know science won't intervene in the mind of the crazy conservative.
