Criminals of the Week
Gotta love the West Side Leader...AKRON POLICE: Officers observed a man carrying a TV set down Simon Street May 23 and determined it had been stolen during the burglary of a residence on that street. The suspect was charged with burglary, criminal damaging and cruelty to animals for killing two rabbits in the home.
FAIRLAWN POLICE: Police arrested a woman for shoplifting merchandise worth $262 from a discount drugstore on West Market Street May 20 by placing the items in a suitcase and leaving the store.
NORTON POLICE: Officers attempted to stop a Columbia Woods Drive man for several traffic violations on Wooster Road around 5 a.m. May 15. The suspect refused to pull over and kept driving to a parking lot, where he fled on foot in the area of Richlawn Drive. Police apprehended him, and he reportedly struck an officer in the chest and ran again. When he was apprehended a second time, he resisted and was taken to the ground and handcuffed. The suspect was charged with DUI, assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, refusing to comply with police orders, obstructing official business, driving under suspension and traffic violations.
