8.03.2005For the KidsYesterday was a special election with a lot of school levies on the ballot. With the state not doing as much for the schools as they used to, local schools are depending more and more on local tax dollars. But people realize this and are going to support the kids in their community, right? It took nine tries and the imminent threat of a state takeover for Cloverleaf voters to approve more taxes for school operations. So I'm a little wrong. People aren't passing these; kids are getting screwed. Levies didn't pass in Revere, Manchester, Brunswick, Southeast and Rittman. If people can't support schools, maybe they can support injured kids... Doesn't matter if you're buying or selling gently used children's clothing -- Lil' Lamb's Closet is the venue for you.The BJ :: 2 school districts get levies approved The BJ :: Two-day sale offers bargains (joe :: For the Kids) |
