9.20.2005Ways to HelpWe've all been doing what we can to help out the people effected by Hurricane Katrina, but it's tough to keep reaching mindlessly into your pocket to help. If you're still looking for ways to help, here are some events that are going on that will help the South as well as give you something to do.Massage therapists from TheraTouch Professional Massage will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Stewart's, 2955 W. Market St. (behind Talbot's) in Fairlawn. Suggested donations are a minimum of $10 for foot or chair massages and $20 for full-body massages. The massage therapist will be there on Friday. The collected money will go to the Red Cross. If you don't want to rubbed by a stranger, you can go see a blues concert sponsored by the Summit County Progressive Democrats. Three local bands -- the Wanda Hunt Band, the Colin John Band and the Mike Lenz Band -- will play the show from 7 to 11 p.m. at Northside, 111 N. Main St. in Akron. That concert will take place on October 5th. The BJ :: Massage therapists to accept donations (joe :: Ways to Help) |
