11.21.2005ChipmunksI hate that Chipmunks Christmas song. Christmas, Christmas time is here. Time for joy and time for me to go chipmunk hunting. But while I despise those nasty woodland creatures and their horrible song, I do like what hearing that song means: seeing friends who are back in town, caroling, mulled cider, and going to First Night. Part of that whole experience is the big-ass tree at Lock 3 and this year's tree has a interesting story. This years tree comes from Terry Reed of South Hawkins. She still remembers when her niece, who was in elementary school, brought home two seedlings on Arbor Day in the early 1970s.To see the tree all lit up, head on over to Lock 3 on Friday after your big day of post-Thanksgiving shopping. The lighting ceremony will happy at 6:30. The BJ :: Woman's tree just right for Akron (joe :: Chipmunks) |
