Xbox Xmas
Thank God or any other deity you choose that I don't have kids. Waiting in line for an Xbox is not my idea of building holiday memories.Jennifer Kynett knew supplies were limited, so the 37-year-old Green woman was not intimidated by a friendly game of Survivor to ensure a chance to buy Microsoft's Xbox 360 at 12:01 a.m. today.
Kynett, her 52-year-old husband, Mark, and her 14-year-old son, Justin Walter, left behind their comfy home at 6:30 p.m. Sunday for blankets, sleeping bags and an air mattress outside Wal-Mart on South Arlington Road in Springfield Township.[...]
Kynett's family secured the first three of 20 plastic chairs the store set up along an aisle in the women's clothing department.
Wal-Mart co-manager Robert Cutuli said the store only received 18 systems. The additional chairs were for alternates -- those with hopes that one of the other 18 would give up.
Cutuli said the first eight were in line to receive the $400 premium packages -- an Xbox 360 with a 20-gigabyte hard drive and other accessories. The rest would receive the game system with fewer accessories, which will be available for about $300. This is why I play games on Yahoo. Sure the games suck, but at least I'm not in line for 2 days and I'm not out four hundred bucks.
